Ceramics Care Guide

Each piece of ceramics is completely hand-made, from start to finish. The nature of the piece being a brand new, and fragile product naturally means utmost care is to be taken.

Hopefully the following section will answer some of your questions.

Dishwasher Safe?

Stoneware ceramics (as my products are) are safe to be used in the dishwasher, but this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best way to wash them…

I have always washed my ceramics in the dish washer, and as of yet have had no issue, besides heavy handed loading and unloading (guilty). Some dish-washer products I have found slightly harsher than others, and can dull the surface of the ceramic. If you are concerned about this, my advice would be to avoid dish-washing.

REMEMBER these are fragile objects. Any stacking, knocking etc can result in damage, especially on handles.

Microwave Safe?

At your own risk. I do not advise this, as there are some metallic elements in certain clays and glazes. Alternatively, oven heating is fine to preheat items.

Other

Again, just emphasis on the fact these items are 100% handmade and completely fragile. Improper storage puts the ceramic at risk of chipping, hairline cracks forming or even breaking. This includes precarious balancing (guilty again)!

If the inside stains slightly with tea/coffee use, I advise to use a little bicarbonate of soda and some water, soak the inside and wipe clean with a sponge.
